Privacy Notice

What we collect when you register or book, why we hold it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it.

Last updated: 10 August 2026
Note for the site owner This page is ready to publish as it stands. Separately, check whether you must pay the ICO data protection fee using the short self-assessment at ico.org.uk/for-organisations/data-protection-fee. Some small operations are exempt from the fee, but your duties under UK GDPR — including publishing this notice — apply either way. If you do register, add your reference number to section 01.

01Who is responsible for your data

Zaiman Electrical Academy is the data controller for the personal information described here.

Data controller: Zaiman Electrical Academy, a sole trader business based in England
Contact: admin@zaiman.co.uk · WhatsApp 07767 796097
Postal address: Available on request

If you have any question about how your information is handled, contact us using the details above and we will deal with it ourselves — we are a small operation and there is no separate data protection officer.

02What we collect and why

Payment details Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Performance of a contract

We do not collect special category data, and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18.

03Cookies and tracking

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not track you across other websites.

The only browser storage we use is a temporary note of your name, email and chosen course, kept while you move from the registration page to the booking page. It is strictly necessary to make the booking work, it stays on your own device, and it is cleared when you close the browser.

04Who we share it with

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for marketing. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf:

  • Supabase — stores registration, booking and review records securely.
  • Stripe — processes payments and holds the card details we never see.
  • Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet — hosts the live session you join. Your name, and any details you choose to share on the call, will be visible to the tutor and to other students in the class.
  • Our website host and email provider — to serve the site and contact you.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, they operate under safeguards recognised by UK data protection law.

We may disclose information if we are legally required to do so.

05How long we keep it

  • Registrations that never became a booking: up to 12 months, then deleted.
  • Booking and attendance records: up to 6 years, so we can deal with queries, refunds and tax records.
  • Published reviews: for as long as they remain on the site, or until you ask us to remove yours.

06Your rights

Under UK GDPR you may ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • correct anything inaccurate;
  • delete your information, where we no longer need it;
  • restrict or object to how we use it;
  • transfer it to another provider;
  • withdraw consent, where consent was the basis — for example to take your review down.

Email admin@zaiman.co.uk and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

07How we protect it

Records are held in a database that is not publicly readable: the website can add a registration or a booking, but cannot read the list back. Only an authenticated administrator account can view student records, and reviews are hidden until approved.

No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and will tell you and the ICO promptly if a breach occurs that is likely to affect you.

08Changes to this notice

We may update this notice. The current version is always the one published here, with the date shown at the top.
